About the facilitator

Ravi Ramaswamy received training in Theatre of the Oppressed (TO) from Marc Weinblatt of the Mandala Center for Change. He is a trustee of CCDC and has been leading Theatre of the Oppressed workshops in schools, and medical colleges across India. Ravi is passionate about his work with children and youth, advocating the use of TO for developing reflection and critical thinking skills. Another core area of his work is the use of Theatre of the Oppressed for Medical Humanities.

Ravi is currently engaged in a Legislative Theatre process with young farmers in Karnataka

With a Master's degree in Social Work and 12 years' experience of working in the development sector, Ravi brings to his TO practice a deep understanding of issues such as urban poverty, education, child and youth rights, gender and sexuality
In the eight years since CCDC was founded in 2011, over 4000 people have participated in our workshops and attended our Forum performances. Many have personally benefited from the experience and found it to be of value in their professional lives too.

We work with students, teachers, artists, activists, healthcare professionals & senior citizens.
