Merakee : Ravi Ramaswamy : Guest Speaker
Ravi Ramaswamy has been invited to speak at an event called Merakee .Merakee is a group started by students and others of Mount Carmel College and CMS Jain . Merakee is a platform that serves to showcase people's talents, experiences, knowledge and wisdom. In a world where not everyone has access to a stage, Merakee believes that as many people as possible ought to be given a chance to express themselves and teach one another. Merakee hopes to create a space for networking where interesting and interested people can come together and make art, knowledge and information available to more people. Date 17th Feb 2018, Saturday, Venue: Kareem Towers, Cunningham road, Bangalore Time: 4.30 pm Ravi started by introducing
Paulo Friere's ideas and work on education which inspired Theatre of the
Oppressed. Following this, I engaged the group in Image Theatre. The students
were very curious to know about Theatre of the Oppressed and were readily

6 day workshop with a group of students from the University of Washington.
Radha and Ravi will facilitate a 6 day workshop introducing Theatre of
the Oppressed to a group of students from the University of Washington,
Seattle, who are here on a 10 week Study Abroad programme. The workshop
will take place from January 15-20,2018 at Vidyadeep College, Bangalore. |
6 day Level 2 TO facilitator training
December 2-7. 2017 : 6 day Level 2 TO facilitator training, Bangalore, India. Our very first advanced training, open only to BJs (Bangalore Jokers - Those who have completed CCDC's Level 1 training or completed the recent Theatre of Living Workshop conducted by David Diamond in Bangalore), This workshop will be an intensive and in-depth look at jokering. An opportunity for participants to get lots of practice and detailed feedback. 2.5 days of facilitating TO games, exercises, and Image Theatre. 2.5-3 days of Forum Theatre - working in groups to create, direct, rehearse, and joker forum plays- within the group.
